Wednesday night was the Royals game. Fun is an understatement. Mom, Sean, David and myself had a blast. It was dollar night (which doesn't really matter to me, because I don't eat hotdogs that I cannot be assured are 100% beef and from Omaha Steaks) which means that peanuts, hotdogs and small drinks are... you guessed it geniuses.. $1. I think, I know, that David was the only one watching(trying to watch) the game. The three of us were complete goof offs. On the way home we picked up the pups from Nenee's house and headed back to our side of the tracks.
Thursday was CRAZY at work. All I am going to say is this... imagine seeing 15 patients before noon.
Friday... the usual. I dropped off the dogs at the groomer, went to work, went to the bakery (I think 50 Cent said it best, "this is why I'm fat") and to lunch with Mom. I also watched some kiddos of some family friends so they could go out.
Saturday was a doozy. Up about 9:30 a.m. and cut my hair. Yes, for those of you who didn't know I cut my own hair. Every two weeks in fact. Our first stop was at Hobby Lobby. David and I needed a 12 x 12 frame for the scrapbook page that we gave my Dad for Father's Day today (I posted this page on June 8). We headed across the state line after that to Crick Camera to pick out a tripod.
All the choices. Really. You have no I idea. I was lucky because the one that I wanted came with a strap and a bag (rare) and all we had to buy was a head (which costs about half of the price of the legs). After we were set back over $200 we were off.
Mom met us at Mema's nursing home for a "family" afternoon. Nancy, her friend Linda and my cousin Ainsley were there. Once we left there we headed to the Plaza. We went there so that I could practice some photo techniques on the fountains, but it was too bright. There was really nothing that we wanted to eat there so we headed downtown to our FAVORITE mexican restaurant, La Taquiera to kill some time until dusk.
After we ate we found this awesome building. It used to be some sort of church/community center that is now abandoned. I was so pumped to find it. I am always looking for great spots for shoots around town. Take a look at my handy work. You might recognize the model. What a hottie! He is such a good sport!
Front stoop
I loved this next one so much I made it the wallpaper on my computer.
Once we left there David took me to the Liberty Memorial. Believe it or not I had never been there. It is a great spot to get wonderful shots of downtown...
and that is just what we did. Above is a shot of Kansas City from the terrace of the Liberty Memorial. The biggest building in the foreground is Union Station. While we were there I took advantage of all of the downtown traffic to practice my blurred action shots for class. We never made it back to the Plaza.
This is not the one that I am going to use for my class assignment. I have another idea, but we ran out of light and time for that one. We will see if I can get it done tomorrow.
Father's Day was fun too. Church and then home to Mom and Dad's house for food. Good eats and good company. Not to mention a sweet cuddle-icious baby. It was between Mr. Braxton or a nap. He won.
Enjoy your Mondays... if that is even possible.
