is the song that I have had sung to me all weekend long. I just LOVE it! It has seemed to become a tradition of sorts... this song that is. It started when I turned 19 or 20. I can't remember because both years Nenee, Mom, Elias and I were in Chicago celebrating and one of them started singing it at the top of their lungs as we were walking to dinner! "You say it's your birthday... well happy birthday to ya" and it has never stopped. Now, it is just a riot. You mention "birthday" around any of us, David included now, and we are off. Rocking out to the the only line that any of us know. Well, today I took it upon myself to look up the actual lyrics. Here they are, learn em' and love em' like we do. Rock out! ***Oh yeah, the ONE line that we THOUGHT we "knew"... yeah, it is not even right... figures!***
It's my birthday too, yeah
They say it's your birthday
We're gonna have a good time
I'm glad it's your birthday
Happy birthday to you
Yes we're going to a party party
Yes we're going to a party party
Yes we're going to a party party
I would like you to dance
(Birthday)
Take a cha-cha-cha chance
(Birthday)
I would like you to dance
(Birthday)
Dance
This was a great birthday weekend. I had a ton of calls (thank you) and even more emails (thank you again). Friday I really just laid low. Went to work... twice. Once in the morning to return some patient calls and then after lunch with David I returned. I know... such a good employee... don't forget to tell my Mom that... hahaha. After that I hung at my parents for the afternoon. Mom and I ran some errands, sat on the deck with Dad and then went to the neighborhood coffee shop for a sip of something cool (oh I you can't go there without eating one of their famous lemon raspberry bars... Mmmmm. Then David and I took ourselves out... Borders... wild we know! We chatted, read and listened to music until about 10:30 p.m. On the way home he bought me a Wendy's Frosty... cheap date.
Saturday I made the "Joplin Run" with Nenee. No, this does NOT include running. I would have to have had about 3 sports bras on for that kind of activity. This just involves a LOT of driving. We drove there, dropped Brennden off, visited Lea, ate and headed back. I made it home just in time to shower and plop on the couch before the clock struck midnight! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
Sunday, BIRTHDAY DAY, was great! Nothing out of the ordinary. I was just the center of attention as usual *cough cough*... it is great being a princess *cough again*. David and I slept in. Then, I was up and ready to party! I put on my birthday dress (nothing special except I was in it) and headed to church (where my Mom told EVERYONE it was my birthday). After church my parents and Nenee took David and I to lunch. I know, out to eat on Sunday... Sinners. Houston's is what I picked. Good eats. Then to Cold Stone... even bigger sinners. David and I walked about the Plaza for a few hours and then headed for home.
At home I napped (I can't let those super sleeper skills go to waste) and watched the tube. Then, David and I went on a little walk. Great day with great people! Here are some of my goodies:

As you can see I LOVE pigs. The big pig on the right is a piggy bank that David gave me... I collect piggy banks... let's be clear here... only the PIG piggy banks. The top left picture is a close-up on the charm that he gave me to add to my charm bracelet. He said that it is a castle for a Princess.... Ahhhhh I know, so sweet. The black and white picture is a little trinket box with a pretty sterling silver piggy on the top decorated in gemstones... ohhhh gemstones. Thanks Mom and Dad.
These are what I came into this morning in my office at work.

They are from my Mom. I just had to share them because the moment I saw them I started cracking up. Not because they said "Happy Birthday Princess", but they were waited down with... Colgate Toothpaste (my favorite). Yes, this is one of those "you know your Mom is a dentist when" moments.
Thanks everyone who helped make my day so special. The thoughtful gift, phone calls (even those I received today) cards and emails were great! My friends and family rock!
