Fortunate One

I have always had a thing for the fortunes out of fortune cookies. I don't know why, but even as a kid I would ask everyone if I could have theirs. With me being the (adorable) kid that I was of course everyone said yes to whatever I wanted and handed them over. Come to think of it not much has changed in that respect. Anyway...

When David and I set up my office I found, literally, a whole Ziploc bag full of them from over the years that I had been collecting them. I could not think of anything to do with them. Finally after everything else was set up: the desks, closet organized and curtains and shelves hung it came to me. Just put them on the wall:

I am not quite sure how many I have because they are jam packed in there with each other. There are probably hundreds, I would think. Sometimes when David and I are working in my office we get bored (Hard to imagine being bored while working.) and we read some of the fortunes.

This one caught my eye yesterday:

Wishing does not make a poor man rich.
When I read it I laughed. Yeah, I know wishing won't make us rich, but hard work will. That is probably why I was in bed and asleep by 9:30 p.m. last night. Damn that wishing not being more effective in securing my financial future.

That's a clever use for your Fortunes. I would like to do the same but I can't because that would make me a copy cat. I think I'll keep use my fortunes for flossing my teeth after chinese food.
