and that's why I love it. I think that is why I love it. It is so easy for me to stay up LATE on Wednesday night and not feel bad about it. I know that I only have one more day that I have to get up and ready in record time. I know that when I wake up Thursday morning I only have this day to get through before I am home free.
Sorry no post last night. I was helping David with his "homework". He and his group had to put together an advertising campain for a company/business. Some of the groups decided to make up companies, but David's group decided that they would help David and I out and use the business that we are going to start. So, last night I had to design business cards, advertisements and help him pick 5 digital scrapbooking pages that we liked the best, and would appeal to an array of people, for their presentation. I think that it is going to be great! Their presentation really showcases my work. This is one of my business cards that I designed.

His group will be giving one to each member of the class at the end of everything. I am SO excited to get some feedback on my ideas and the stuff that I have been working on. Below is one of the ads that I made for his Ad group to present as well. This one is one that would go in a magazine or something along those lines.

***Those photos are not ones that I had taken, but from my wedding.*** That was just so his teacher and peers could get an idea of what kind of vibe we are going for. I cannot post any of my photos of other people unless they are family b/c I don't have releases made up.

I cannot say how happy I am to find not only something that I am good at... I mean, you all know how great I am at everything... but to find something I love. I want this to become the thing that I can do now "on the side" and soon create a full blown business. My goal for David and myself is that this can be the thing that I do when I am not working and staying home with some "little monsters".
Watching my parents grow their two businesses into successes as I was growing up showed me how I wanted to be independent. I wanted to be an owner of something besides my husband and kids...hahaha. I know the benefits of working for yourself. (Minus the extra 7.5% tax to pay for being self-employeed) I guess that in a few years from now David and I will look back and see what has come of our business ownership goals.
I hope that everyone is gearing up for Mother's Day this Sunday. I know that I am. I have already ordered my Mom's gift from David and I and it was delivered today. I think that Kyle and Sean are going to go in on it too. Mother's Day to us is not really about the gifts we get for Mom, but just remembering to do and say the things that we all should be doing and saying all year round. Okay, here is what we bought for my Mom. Of course it is from my new favorite site, Etsy. Here is one of the cuties that I ordered for her. I ordered two. One for her and well... one for me of course.
The camera strap I ordered from this seller also came in today. It was a fun day of opening packages. I love packages... especially if they come in a blue-ish box with a white bow (red at Christmas time). Here is a quick picture of myself and that is the new strap. I had already put it on the camera when I forgot to take a picture of it. So, this was the best way to get it done. Please excuse the fact that I did not edit this photo at all and the fact that it was taken in my guest bathroom. (I know... really professional) I am going to scotch guard it this weekend and then I am off shooting. hahaha
This strap is much more comfortable than the one that came with my camera. Not to mention the fact that it is not just plain black.
Okay everyone, fast forward to 11:41 p.m. David arrived home from his class tonight and their presentation was a HIT! He said that the class just loved everything about what I am doing. They gave out almost all of the cards. One of his friends in class even asked for a stack to take and put in his stores. I am SO excited that it was so well received. I think that our "theme" so to speak of "A Different Kind of Photography" and being a "Full Service" (photos, scrapbooking, invitations, announcements and greeting cards) business is going to be good for us.
I think that I have bored you enough for tonight. Tomorrow I am off! I am going to meet David for a quick lunch, meet everyone for dinner downtown before we see Wicked and then we are off to the show. For everyone who is going to ask me how I got tickets... we have season tickets to the "Broadway Across America", formally "The Theater League". This is my family's 30th year.
I am also doing Kyle's maternity shoot this weekend.
Have a great Friday. I will post soon! Smooch to the ones of you that are far away!
