Thursday I went to work as usual. After work I headed home to play with the pups and grab my things. Before I knew it my Mom was here, and we were off to the airport. We arrived a bit early so she sat with me for awhile and we chatted before it was time for me to head on into the gate to board. My Mom is the BEST! The flight is a quick one, 55 minutes in the air. It actually takes longer to get to the airport, board, deplane and get your luggage than the amount of time you are in the air. Elias and David (not my David) were waiting for me as I got off the flight and we were off. Luggage was the first stop. Next we popped into the store for some yummies, and on to their condo. There new place is really nice. Thursday we all just caught up on families, gossip and what E squared is known to do when we are together... TALK!
*For those of you who don't know who Elias is he is the other half of "E Squared". I am not sure where we got that nickname. I am not sure if someone in Kappa Sigma or Alpha Chi gave it to us or if one of us made it up. In any event he is one of my BESTEST (yes, I realize this is not a real word) from college. Elias and I met our very first week in the KSU Elite Choir our Freshman year of College at K-State. We have been inseperable ever since. Elias is the cutie who sang at David and my wedding reception.*
Friday was our Chicago usual! Nordstrom shopping and Nordstrom Cafe for lunch. Holllllla! Nordstrom knows me by name. I love them! Norstrom has the jeans I love and the shoes I drool over! As previously discussed it is my "Mecca". Shhhhhhh, a moment of silence for the Nordstrom on Michigan Avenue please... Friday night we all were dolled up and met Dr. Paul and Tony for dinner at Spiaggia. Yummy dinner. Thanks Dr. Paul! After that we went to one of their favorite hangouts to see who we could find. Of course we had to stop at Pie Hole for some late night pizza.
Unfortunately this was our view downtown this time around. Meet construction mania...

Saturday was much of the same. I talked Elias into taking me to Millennium Park. The last time I was there the new Park was just finished and to inundated with tourists for us to handle. We shopped like mad people until we met up with David downtown. Then, we continued to shop some more. After enough walking to make and Olympic speed walker tired we headed to dinner at a great Mexican Restaurant (I cannot remember the name) in "Boystown". After dinner we just headed home and chilled out. Of course everyday was "how many pictures can you take" day. On the E Squared shopping extravaganza my David was the lucky recipient of the Burberry Polo (lucky find at Nordstrom Rack form $39.95) he has been lusting after, and a sweet shirt from American Eagle from my shopping endeavor. Elias' David is a manager at AE and he passed on his sweet discount.

The party had to come to a close on Sunday when it was time for me to go back to real life. It is funny to think that Elias and I have been friends for so long. I think that for each other we are some of the best friends a person could have ever had. Not many people are blessed enough to have friends like I do from college (...Liz). Elias and I have been together through break-ups, vacations, family members passing, first dates with people we thought were "just perfect" for us, weddings, college graduations, choir concerts in stupid outfits and moves and travels across the world and back. The bonus about E Squared is that we have fought over it all too! We still keep coming back for more. When E Squared is together it is like time was frozen and the information sharing (gossip) never paused. Cheers to E Squared! Here are to 10 more years of running a muck together around the world!
Now that I am home. It is back to the daily routine. There are dinners that need to be made (not by me), cooking to be eaten, dogs to be fed and laundry to be done. The real world seems right where I left it. David and I are gearing up for a busy weekend. GO CHIEFS HOME OPENER! We are also getting the travel mindset. Sunny Arizona here we come, but first I need sleep!
Nighty Night.
