As most of you know David and I do not have you typical type of kids at this point in our marriage. However, our family is made up of a few furry friends: Binx our 6 year old Teacup Pom and Baron and Daisy, our 7 month old Golden Retrievers.
I have mentioned before that Baron was having some trouble.
Well, Baron is not doing better, to say the least. Baron, who we often call our "Big Sweetie" has been fighting a staph infection for months now. We have done EVERYTHING in our means to help him thus far. He has had 4 rounds of different antibiotics among other prescriptions, antibiotic shampoo baths bi-weekly since September, skin dips, his food has been changed now 4 times, multiple visits to his primary Veterinarian as well as to a Dermatologist. All to no avail.
As I spoke to his doctors (do you believe my dog has "doctors") today I was warned that every option has now be exhausted seeing as he is still much to young for allergy testing. As his primary Veterinarian recommended some last ditch efforts I was told that we needed to be thinking long term. Long term, I asked? Baron's Veterinarian said that we need to be thinking about if this last round of antibiotics and food change does not work. I suddenly started crying. He told me that considering his young age and what will be a continual financial strain that we needed to consider putting our Sweetie down. I know that he was right when he said that we have to consider his quality of life. I am hoping by saying this that it won't happen. A little revere psycology I guess.
I know that this may sound silly, but I am asking if you could help out our kiddo with some prayers. Today armed with a new 4 week round of antibiotics, $90.oo bag of special dog food and prayers we are in limbo. This needs to work.
To keep my mind off of our dog I have been getting orders ready to send to the printer. Here is one from Kaitlin's Senior Session back on October that I am loving right now. Doesn't she just have the best eyes?
I am also obsessed with this song from the Twilight movie, too.
