More Pie Please

It's really over!  This long, wonderful, spectacular holiday break is over!  (A single tear drops down my cheek.) It seems like just yesterday my holiday spectacular began and now it is just a memory.  At least if it is over I know the memories are awesome.

There is really nothing too exciting to report.  David and my holiday was the usual.  We slept, ate, cooked, slept, ate, ate some more, napped, ate a little more, then we ate some pie, slept, played games with friends and family, ate, played with the dogs, ate and oh, did I mention that we ate... A LOT!  In the name of all that is holy I am not sure that we could have cooked or eaten more!  No, really from before Thanksgiving through tonight we have been eating machines!  Oh, so good, but oh so bad!  Delicious, nonetheless.

Friends I have cooked more things from scratch than EVER before this past week.  Just ask my husband.  Cooking is NOT something that I enjoy.  Now, baking... that is another story, but cooking... NO WAY.  Let me just go down the list of what these pretty little hands handmade ALL BY HERSELF: TWO pumpkin pies, one honey baked ham, cinnamon apples, jello salad (You know how I feel about this.  No Mormon holiday is complete with out it.  Even if no one eats it.), cheesy potato goodness, deli roll-ups and some other stuff I can't seem to think of right now.  Just trust me on this, or ask David if you must.  It was wonderful.  Paired with my Mom's homemade, warm goodness we were in business.  Our business you ask?  Making tummys happy!

After we stuffed ourselves at my parents house our friends Nick and Stacy came over to play games.  Nick and Stacy are from Utah and don't have any family here.  So, my family was their family this year.  We had the best time playing Rummikube and Blockus (it has its own website).  After Kyle and Mr. B left the five of us (David, Nick, Stacy, Sean and myself for those of you who have a hard time counting) played for hours!  Hope N & S had as much fun as we did.

On Friday morning, the Lord must have been watching over me because I actually got up for Black Friday shopping.  Yes, ME!  The most NON-morning person EVER got up at 4:30 a.m. so my beloved (David) could get an XBox 360.  Yes, friends N & S arrived in our driveway at 5 a.m. ready to shop.  Long story short.  Black Friday shoppers are NUTS in those stores.  Ruthless even.  Target first: me=Garmin GPS and Twilight CD, David=nothing.  Off to Toys R Us.  Success.  They have the XBox 360 in stock.  The boys just had to wait in line for 1 hour to pay for it!  After shopping was breakfast at Chick-filet followed by shopping for the house at Hobby Lobby.

As you can see our Holiday was a success.  No, I did not forget to mention Saturday and Sunday.  We really just ate our way through leftover and shopped some more.  Today we did go and spend some time with my Mema, who is in a care facility.

I am very happy that I did do some damage in the digi-scrap kit department and I actually scrapped some things tonight!

JUST TEN MINUTES

HAPPY DAY

Oh, yes and here is the yummy to the tummy pumpkin pie recipe I used Oprah's site.

Wish me luck.  Tomorrow is Monday... again!

There'a nothing like Black Friday shopping. I'm glad to hear that David has been upgraded to an Xbox 360. When he and I were roommates we had alot of good times with a Gamecube. I haven't sessioned since then, man I miss the screaming.
