Since we often forget our blessings, and what to be most thankful for, I am going to list one blessing in my life that I am thankful for with every post through December. So here goes:
Today, I am most thankful for friendship. A friend is one attached to another by affection or esteem, a favored companion, says Merriam-Webster. It is funny to me because the dictionary also describes a friend as one that is of the same nation, party or group. I have to say that I am forever blessed by the wonderful friends I have. The best part of my friendships is the fact that my friends are not the same nation, party or group as myself. My friends are everything that I am not and more most days.
My friends answer the phone when I am having a bad day. My friends remember to send me birthday wishes from across the world. My friends span different races, continents, religions, sexual orientations and life goals and that is okay. In fact my friends make me better with every phone conversation, petty squabble, RENT song, e-mail, just because card, crappy movie we see together and text message. My friends have been there through every break up, bad grade, sorority politics drama, marriage and all the falls and accidents along the way. To them I am forever grateful. So, to my friends today, you know who you are, you rock! You are a blessing indeed and I can assure you my words cannot thank you for being you and not being the same as me enough!
And to my best friend of all... I can here you snoring across the hall and through two doors... roll over!

This kind of post processing is a little out of my regular thing, but I was in the mood for something a little different tonight. What cha' think?
*I have received a few e-mails inquiring about Baron. Our Big Sweetie is doing fine, I guess. His skin where the infection is is still itching him a lot and is now turning this weird shade of brown/black. He has also lost all of his hair on his chest and stomach. He is highly irritable and uneasy as a side affect of his steroids. This round of antibiotic seems to be helping. The test is what happens when this round of medicine is over. Please keep him in your doggy prayers!*
Um... yeah, so it is now 12:44 a.m. I made a fatal mistake tonight. I took a 2 hour nap on the couch. Now, I am WIDE awake. Bad idea.
