Can You Tie a Perfect Bow?

Sometimes we forget about the blessings that we can't really see.  For me some of those blessings are my talents.  I can say that I am lucky to have more than one: singing, photography and scrapbooking, to name a few, and I love them all.

For me singing used to be my "thing".  My talent of singing has taken me all over the world.  Singing has blessed me to meet and meet friends that I would have otherwise never had the chance to get to know.  Elias is one of those friends.  Elias and I met our first day at Kansas State University, in 2000 (I am starting to feel old) in no other place, but our Elite Choir.  To me that blessing of friendship is better than any talent.

Photography in the recent past (and presently) trumps my singing to say the least.  My Mom is always asking why "that camera" is always in front of my face and wondering why I am no longer singing as much as she would like.  However, this is a blessing that I share now in the most special of places... Church.  I can also thank my talent for helping me reel in David.  When we first began dating I sang in Sacrament and I knew he was mine.
NICK & STACY
Oh, the beloved scrapbooking.  Bless its past in my life... cluttering my office, getting glue on all my solid surfaces and always making me think of creative projects to use my scraps... that is before digital scrapbooking (thanks Anna).  Thanks to my scrapbooking talent I had the skills to make all of my 600 (Yes, 600.  Just think of the aches in my fingers) wedding announcements (Crazy I know).  I have also used my scrapping to bless others with handmade books and cards.  It is also thanks to scrapbooking that I have perfected another talent of mine... tying bows.

I am sure like myself you can probably think of many of your blessings that you cannot "see".  Just remember that just because you cannot see them doesn't mean that they aren't there!

TALENTS LAYOUT

Above is a layout I scraplifted this summer about my talents.  The journaling reads, "I am grateful for my talents. I am blessed everyday by the things that I do best.  I know that it is my responsibility to use and share them."

Happy Tuesday!

The triple-threat trifecta! I unfortunately lack the natural talent and self-discipline to be good at anything. I also have the attention span of a gnat, which means I can't focus long enough to even listen to song on the radio all the way through.
