HGTV Call Me

I am not going to bore you or me with re-capping the last week and a half in detail that I have been absent. So, here is the quick version: David picked out a sectional for his *lounge* (a.k.a. finished basement), we purchased TWILIGHT (Yes, it deserves ALL CAPS) and YES I have watched it about 10 times, TAMN had her feti, Daisy was spayed, Mr. B learned to wave and when you say "no no" he shakes his head no (the cutest thing EVER... after Edward in TWILIGHT), I cut my hair, worked on my portfolio for my new blogsite (coming soon) NONSTOP, a custom made return address stamp was delivered and looks a bit like this (but with our names and address... duh!), David's sectional was delivered along with a few other things...

Yes, Internet. We finally agreed upon and purchased a bedroom set for our master bedroom. No, it was not planned, but I can be very persuasive, a business woman of sorts. Plus, I was going to be damned by the home decorating Gods should I have allowed the *lounge* to be furnished before our bedroom! Now I know why all the decorating magazines tell you to do your master bedroom first... otherwise it is last!

So, here is the rundown of the room (two and a half years in the making). I totally knew what *I* wanted (insert my vision here) from the start (Yes, two and a half years ago... I am a visionary.) and I was lucky that David didn't really care. All he said was, No, pink in this room, and I knew he was serious.

*Warning... read no further unless you are as into bargain home decor finds as I am!*

Accessories. This list is why David just hates when I say that... he knows it is trouble in any sense of the word. We found the chandelier 2 years ago at Lowe's and David installed it himself (so handy). The flowered fabric for the duvet I made we found at the fabric store, on the Plaza, two years ago too. I also made the large square pillows (Euro Pillows if your wanna get technical about the name) and the striped pillow in the front at the same time as the duvet. My mirror over my jewelry armoire I found at my parents house and spray painted. So, in Erin terms that means I took it off the wall and replaced it with something else. Good thing Mom is chill. The bedside tables (Target clearance. ROCK ON!) were exactly what I was looking for when we found them randomly last year. David has one too you just can't see it. The valances I made this past Saturday. Our personal favorites, the King and Queen (Which we painted black. Pun intended) chess pieces on top of the wardrobe along with the sheets and coverlet at the foot of the bed are from Home Goods. Can you say clearance? The four black frames with the mattes included, that I will eventually fill with photos of us, are Wal-Mart clearance. The paint is Ralph Lauren (best paint ever), Fade Seafoam, lightened a bit. Two sequin pillows, buy one get one free at Hobby Lobby. Lastly, since the bed is crazy high I took the antique step stool my aunt gave me from my office and put it on my side of the bed.

There are a few more things that I need to complete the *look* like a rug, new closet doors (I am having trouble deciding between frosted glass or mirror.), wood blinds or plantation shutters, and more accessories. What big decisions. However, I have been put on a strict spending freeze (no joke). Luckily for David (I mean us) the attached master bath is pretty much perfect and matches our style!

Decorating on a budget! HGTV do you need my phone number? I think I need my own show! Holla at cha' girl!

LOVE IT. I worship blue and brown. I would marry it if polygamy was allowed. Way to go on the clearance stuff too!!!! It inspires me to get going on my master bedroom...it's so depressing right now...Diapers, a crib, and laundry are my main accessories right now. Wah!

I love your room. If Nick and I ever buy a house I may have to hire you to help me decorate. Or just fly you out wherever we end up living just for fun.
