I am a person who loves presidential election years. Sick I know. These years to me mean change, new hope for the future. For me this year means, getting out from under good ol' boy President Bush! Oooops, that just slipped out. I am sick of hearing what people have to say to me about voting. If you don't want the answer DON'T ask (or read any further). You vote or you don't. It is that simple. If you don't vote you are doing yourself and your country a disservice by not letting you opinion be known. If you didn't vote in the last presidential don't talk to me about voting!
You do not need to ask me if I am voting for Barack Obama because I am black. I think if one more person asks me that question I will go insane. Just for the record I am not black and neither is he. We are both biracial and not defined by one word, black. Give me a frickin' break here people. I, nor should you, vote for someone because of the color of their skin. Vote because you care out the future of your country. Vote because you care about the country that our children will be living and coming of age in. Yes, I am voting for Barack Obama. I know it is so taboo to say who you are voting for or against. I very strongly believe in a woman's right to choose, that sex education should be in our public schools, and equal pay for an equal days work just to name a few. There it is out. My vote is for change. I am a vote for red, white and blue. Not a vote for black or white. This post is a plea to take me off of your group emails about being pro-life, voting for McCain, how cool you think Palin is and how you don't think Obama has enough experience... really I won't we offended.

Now, I was not going to go here, but everyone is laying this out there on their blogs... now I will too. I believe that every person in this FREE country deserves equal rights. I think that whether gay, straight, black, white, single, married, religious, atheist, America born or an immigrant deserves the same rights. Please stop talking to me about the propositions around the country about same sex marriages. I feel that EVERYONE deserves to have the same rights that my husband and I are privileged to have.
Those who do not make the same life choices as you and I are not bad. They are not against what you believe. They are not a threat to your family. I keep reading and hearing from friends and acquittances that they "don't want their children being exposed". That "gay marriages are a treat" to them. In what world do you live in? Is is a bad thing for your kids to know that everyone is different? Is it bad to teach them that this is not what you choose, but some people make different choices? People with alternative lifestyles to your own just want to live their lives without you butting your head in. The truth is... EVERYONE IS NOT THE SAME. Stop discriminating against something that you know nothing about. If you think that I sound a bit adament about this subject I AM! The discrimination for gays in America is the same discrimination that is used when it comes to other minorities in our country. Do you want to be a person judging other people for how they want to live their lives? I hope not!

I totally agree with you! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Isn't frisky an awesome word? I am doing good. My week is going well. I'm keeping Sandy and Elisabeth company while Ivan's at work. Fun, fun! How is your week going?
:0)
Awesome! 4 day work weeks rock! Have fun at the Chiefs game.
Amen, sister! Go Obama! If I hear one more lie from the McCain camp about Obama, I think I'm going to scream. Seriously. I wish people would just get back to debating the issues and stick to higher ground.
