My "Mecca" (really) Realized

I know that you all think that I am vain when it comes to my love of Nordstrom, but let me tell you something... I don't care! Nordstrom was already heaven on earth and now it is even better. (If that was even possible.) I have been shopping at Nordstrom for over a decade (that makes me sound old). From the moment I entered their blanket of goodness I knew that I had found what had been missing in my life. A retail store with superbly clean floors and mirrors, expert service, private parties and sales just for me. Now, you can see where I am coming from. Ahhhhhhh, the joy of going somewhere for jeans and knowing that you never have to leave the dressing room. That is retail shopping confidence.

Okay, well here is where it gets good. I am not sure why I never knew this, but in any event I know now. When you buy clothing at Nordstom (not Nordstrom Rack) the alterations fee is waived as long as your tailoring needs are within reason. What? Holla! How did I not know this? I have been taking my clothes to be tailored FOREVER...SOMEWHERE ELSE. This service has been at my finger tips and I did not know it. How? I do remember after my couture wedding gown was maimed (no, I am not exaggerating) at the cleaners that I rushed to Norstrom to find a replacement dress for our California wedding reception. They did the alterations for free and in one day. I thought that they were just taking pity on the sad story about my gown my bridesmaid Julia told them. In any case David and I are taking full advantage now. David purchased some jeans there recently. One pair needed to be taken up and the other's zipper has since broken. Off to Nordstom he went yesterday and lo' and behold they called alterations. The lovely lady marked them, called management and whisked the jeans away to their free alteration sector. Now I know that I have truly found my "Mecca".
