A Slap on the Wrist

This weekend David and I were chastised, in an interesting email, for apparently not remembering our covenant and responsibility to have children.  The exact words were, we buy nice cameras and shoes instead.  That is so wrong on soooo many levels.

Laughingly, all we can say, is please welcome the newest additions to our family...
TOASTY AND WARM DEC '08
The little guy on the left we named Walker and the cutie you see on the right is called Texas Ranger.  We chose the middle names Toasty and Warm.  It seemed most fitting.

My blessing today is being able to attend Church with my family.

I am SO jealous! And about your responsibility to have kids--yes you are supposed to go multiply and replenish the earth but that is between you, David and Heavenly Father and not anyone else.

That comment actually hurt my feelings....but you know why it would :0)

I remember reading somewhere...I don't remember where (conference talk maybe) about how it isn't any one else's business to know when/where/how you are going to start a family. It is truly a very, VERY personal decision.

Sorry, stepping down from my soapbox now.

um, ya. i remember a comment once in sunday school in our last ward that basically claimed that if you choose to wait, you're following satan's "plan," and some other stuff i won't get into. needless to say, my mom raised hell with the bishop! i was really upset! this whole getting married and busting out some kids right away has nothing to do with church doctrine, and everything to do with the culture of the church! you decide when it's right to start--we did! on the uggs, i bought my first pair when i was a senior in high school for $100, and my dad was beside himself! i told him i'd "wear them forever," and i did! i just retired them last year, 16 years later! the soles were falling off, but they held up really well! i've been thinking about getting another pair, but now i have to spend all my discretionary funds on other things, like my crazy kids! so get all that stuff when you can!! ;-)

I ALWAYS read your blog and I don't really know you or your situation, BUT I do agree with AJ! I was married 11 years before I had children and I cannot believe the gall that people had to actually tell me the same thing they told you. That I am not keeping my temple covenant to have children. (What business is it of theirs?) I also read somewhere, maybe it was the same thing that AJ read, and I can't remember who said it but that it is between Heavenly Father and you two. I still can't get over that someone would tell you that. One time someone actually told us that it is against LDS church docterine to use birth control...What church did they go to??? I can go on and on about this subject but I won't.

At least you didn't name them "Dr. Quinn" and "Medicine Woman" LOL

Here's to hoping the twins keep you nice and warm this winter!

As for that 'advice' you were given in the email---it is absolutley NO ONE's business when/where one decides to start a family. Just my opinion :)

Merry Christmas.
Do I get some peppermint bark now? jk.
