Christmas in August

Oh yes friends.  The day has come.  My lens was delivered.  The UPS man came to the door, rang the door bell and knelt on one knee while lifting my package right into my hands.  The cardboard has a glow about it.  Serious.
Unbeleivable I know, but really.  I ripped that box open so fast you would have thought that I was Ralphie on "The Christmas Story" opening my "Red Rider" BB gun.  Thankfully this won't "poke an eye out".

This lens has an all metal frame and casing so it is quite heavy.  The focus rings on this style lens is opposite of other lenses, too.  That is going to be something I have to get used to and practice to make sure that I get the hang of it.  I need to make it second nature since this is the brand/series that I will continue to buy.  I have already begun the fun.  It is amazing.  The center of its images are clean and the edges are sharp!  I cannot wait to really see what it can do.  I think that I am going to get one of these to help me offset the weight.  Plus, it is a good excuse to get some much wanted camera accessories!

In other news:
Tomorrow is my Friday... HOLLLAAAAA!
Less than two months until my photography workshop in Arizona.
The puppies are crazy.  Great reminder of why we have puppies and not babies.
David and I are dog sitting while My Nenee is on vacation this week... starting tomorrow we will have 4 dogs... pray for us!

Happy "my Friday" (Thursday) to you!
